SUMMER 2019 CALL, CLICK OR VISIT YOUR LOCAL AAA OFFICE 3
Reacquaint Yourself with AAA Discounts
Hello Fellow Members and Friends. Summer is officially here and this is a great time to remind you of some of the many benefits of AAA that can save you time and money, and make the most of your next great travel adventure – whether it’s a one-day or weekend getaway in Ohio, your summer family vacation or that next big bucket-list adventure!
Our local park and movie ticket discount program is up and running, with tickets available in our branch offices (see page 21 for details). Moreover, discounted event and attraction tickets are available for venues throughout North America year-round online at AAA.com/ticketmonster. But that’s just the tip of the ice cream cone! When you visit AAA.com/discounts, you will arrive at our online Discounts & Rewards platform, which will navigate you to thousands of additional AAA member discount opportunities – retail shopping, travel, dining, personal services ... and so much more!
As you prep your vehicle to hit the road for your adventure, take note of our recently launched Shell Fuel Rewards benefit, which will save you 5 cents per gallon on your fill-up. To link your membership to the Shell rewards program, visit AAA.com/shell. And if you use your AAA Member Rewards Visa card at the pump for your fuel purchase through Aug. 31, you’ll earn even more rewards! (see page 23 for details.)
If you’re opting for a car rental for your journey, remember that your membership offers exclusive, impressive benefits with Hertz (AAA.com/hertz).
And remember, whatever your means of travel, our outstanding staff of Travel Agents and Member Services
Kevin Thomas, President
Counselor stand ready to assist you in your destination and route planning.
Finally, and most importantly, we want you to have a safe journey. Local, state and national roadways will be very busy this summer, especially with the many road improvement projects underway to make our roadways better and safer. I encourage you to plan, give yourselves plenty of time, prepare for the unexpected, and share the road with care. And remember to “Move Over & Slow Down” for roadside workers and emergency responder vehicles. It’s the law in Ohio (see page 8), and in many of the states you may be traveling through.
I hope you and your families have a safe and fun summer, and we hope to see you soon, to assist you in your travel planning, or to say hello at one of our future branch events (see page 4).
Members in Motion
Maureen Wiedlich, a Classic AAA member for more than
45 years(!), was among the more than 800 people who attended our annual AAA Travel Expo at the Akron/Fairlawn Hilton in February. Maureen visited our AAA Insurance Agency table and entered her information for a raffle for a AAA Visa Gift Card.
Maureen is shown here with Jim Adams, one of our outstanding insurance agents, collecting her prize at our Downtown Akron office as the winner of the raffle.
Congratulations Maureen, and THANK YOU for your MANY years of dedicated membership!
Snap a selfie or group photo of you and your membership card(s) and send them to webmaster@akron.aaa.com for a chance to appear as future Members in Motion.
