Keeping Pets Safe in the Car
AAA
You and your kids wear seat belts when riding in the car, but what about your furry loved ones? Accidents happen, and we want to keep our pets safe when they’re traveling in the car, too.
Here are some suggestions for some pet travel safety gear to give you peace of mind.
CARRIERS:
The safest way for your pet to travel is secured
in a pet carrier or crate. If you’re involved in an accident, your beloved pets stay contained instead of loose at the accident scene. It also can help protect them from injuries.
DOGGY SEATBELTS:
There are great alternatives to pet parents whose dog likes to check out the scenery. They won’t
give the protection like a crate but will keep them restrained if you’re involved in a fender-bender. Also, they control over-eager pups from jumping in the driver’s lap.
CAR-SAFETY SEATS:
Not just for little kids, there are car seats for your dog, too! Booster car seats are great for the
little dog that needs a lift to see out the window, whether that be in the front or back seats.
They provide some protection in case there’s an accident by keeping your pup securely locked in. Plus, most have covers that are easy to remove and machine washable.
PET AUTO BARRIERS:
Not only will pet backseat area barriers protect your dog, but they will keep you and your passengers safe, too.
Please be proactive in practicing auto safety for your pets.
If you don’t already use pet auto safety gear, go out and get something, so your favorite furry friend
is safe for the unexpected.
