SOUTHERN ITALY AND SICILY
May 18-29, 2021
Explore Italy south of Rome all the way through Sicily. This Italian sojourn begins in Palermo, the capital of Sicily. Discover Palermo's vibrant culture as we tour this fascinating city and see Moorish, Norman and Spanish architecture. There is an opportunity to visit the famous Teatro Massimo Opera House, the third- largest in Europe and shown in "The Godfather Part
III". Then we travel by deluxe motor coach around Sicily and visit the town of Monreale to visit a UNESCO heritage site featuring many noteworthy paintings, mosaics and cloisters of its 12th-century cathedral. Travel across the scenic countryside to the town of Agrigento. Explore the stunning Valley of the Temples (another UNESCO heritage site), one of the world's most esteemed archaeological sites, and get an up- close view of the temples of Juno, Concordia and Hercules. We journey east to Sicily's Ionian Coast and en route see the impressive Mt. Etna Volcano National Park (UNESCO site). To complete our visit to Sicily, we stay in Giardini Naxos for two nights and also visit beautiful Taormina. We depart Sicily via ferry to Villa San Giovanni on Italy's mainland. We visit Matera, where we explore the Sassi di Matera and see the ancient settlement of carved cave dwellings. Other highlights of this memorable tour are a stop in Vietri Sul Mare, famous for its precious majolica pottery, and the excavated ruins of Pompeii. Visit the seaside resort town of Sorrento and enjoy a beautiful drive along
the Amalfi Coast. Roundtrip airfare and 17 meals (10 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 6 dinners) are included in the price. A passport valid six months past the date of return on this tour will be required. A deposit of $500 per person will be needed to reserve your space.

MACKINAC ISLAND AND UPPER MICHIGAN
June 14-19, 2021
This very popular tour begins with a newly
added visit to Greenfield Village and the Henry
Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Take a tour
of the Ford River Rouge Complex, also in Dearborn, watching assembly line production of Ford vehicles. Later, we spend a day on Mackinac Island touring by horse-drawn carriage, with stops at Surrey Hill and Arch Rock. Lunch is included at the famous Grand Hotel. There's time for shopping and exploring
this spectacular island. Travel to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum featuring a memorial to the Edmund Fitzgerald including the ship's bell. Other highlights of this tour are a visit to Tahquamenon Falls State Park to see a beautiful waterfall, with included dinner, a cruise through the Sault Sainte Marie Locks and one night at Thunder Bay Resort in Hillman, Michigan, where we will take a beautiful carriage ride to see elk. This tour is chock full of fun for the entire family. Fly into Zurich, Switzerland, and travel by deluxe motorcoach to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The next day, we take a panoramic city tour of Bern featuring the Bundeshaus (the Swiss Parliament), the famous bear pit, the rose gardens and the gothic cathedral which dominates Old Town's skyline. Travel to Gruyeres, famous for its creamy cheeses. Enjoy inspiring Alpine views in Switzerland with a ride on the GoldenPass Panoramic Train
from Montreux to Gstaad. Visit Lucerne, the Swiss Paradise on the Lake, and enjoy an old town walking tour where we will see the covered Chapel Bridge and the famous Water Tower. We then travel through Liechtenstein en route to Austria where we will tour Innsbruck and Salzburg. See the birthplace of Mozart and travel into Germany and take a tour of Bavaria's famous castle, Neuschwanstein. Other highlights of this tour include a Tyrolean folklore show and a visit to Innsbruck, Austria. We fly home from Munich, Germany.
