Unless you have never
had a cherished pet, it may
be hard to understand
what a friend or loved one
goes through during a
loss of a pet. This is a
heart-breaking experience
and for many, it is no
different from the grief
experienced at the loss of
a family member. The most
important thing you can do for those suffering the loss of a pet is to be supportive. Here are some helpful suggestions:
Send a Card or Sympathy Basket. Sending a card or sympathy basket and writing a personal message inside can be very comforting. Letting those grieving know you care shows support.
Share Memories. Ask about happy memories shared with their pet. Reliving good times may help ease their pain.
Encourage the Expression of Feelings. Keeping emotions bottled up inside will make the healing process even longer. Encourage the expression of their feelings and listen to what they have to say.
Support Groups. Sometimes just listening may not be enough. If your loved one or friend is having a hard time recovering from the loss of a pet, encourage them to join a support group and share their feelings with those can relate to what they are going through.
Help Out. Lend a hand in any way that you are able to in order to take stress off their shoulders during the grieving process.
For expressions of sympathy, or for any occasion AAA members save 20% or $20 off $79.99 on flower arrangements, gift
baskets and more at AAA.com/1800flowers or by phone at 1-800-356-9377 and mention code 20AAA or 79AAA.

Are you celebrating a special occasion this spring? You may be planning for brilliant graduates and soon-to-be newlyweds or preparing to pamper moms and dads on their honorary days. Giving a gift card takes away the stress of picking out “the perfect gift,” is more secure than giving cash, and still offers a personalized connection between recipient and giver.
Network gift cards, such as Visa®, are beneficial since they
allow recipients to spend them nearly anywhere, in person or
online, and have the option to buy exactly the item(s) they want
or need. Plus, the cost of sending gift cards is less than mailing a package. Gift cards are also safer than giving cash. Visa® cards, once registered, are eligible for lost or stolen cash and card replacement, so buyers and recipients have peace of mind knowing the funds on the card are protected.
The ideal gift can exist with a AAA Visa® Gift Card. Purchase one at your local AAA.
Gift Cards are issued by MetaBank®, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Use everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. Gift Cards valid only in the U.S. and have no cash access
