The Rose Parade Experience
Each year on New Year’s morning millions tune in to watch the Rose Parade on television. While it is certainly a pleasure to watch on TV, being in Pasadena to watch the parade in person is even better. For more than 35 years, AAA Central Penn has hosted travelers on a tour to Pasadena so they can be a part of the experience.
Back by popular demand, AAA will again be offering the Rose Parade Experience tour this year. Traveling Dec. 30, 2022, through Jan. 3, 2023, the tour will once again include the favorite highlights that so many of our travelers have enjoyed in the past.
This tour offers a fun way to ring in the New Year with many benefits, including our arrival in Pasadena a few days before the parade. Arriving early affords plenty of time to take the Rose Parade Float Decorating tour, where you’ll see the crew and craftspeople putting the finishing touches on the floats and installing their most delicate flowers. Witness the unbelievably small-seed pods, petals and blossoms that, when applied, bring life to these incredibly detailed designs.
Early arrival in Pasadena also means there is time to tour the greater Los Angeles area, still decorated for the holiday season. We’ll enjoy a three-course lunch at Lawry’s the Prime Rib in Beverly Hills and experience a tour of a working Hollywood studio.
New Year’s Eve is a special celebration in Southern California and AAA joins the party with an included New Year’s Eve Gala Celebration, filled with elegant dining, dancing, party hats and favors and the added fun of a live “Monte Carlo”-style casino. You won’t want to miss the festivities.
We’ll set sail on the Pacific Ocean to Catalina Island, where you can explore the storybook town of Avalon. As the most visited tourist destination on Catalina Island, Avalon is a world apart from mainland Southern California. A quintessential beach town, Avalon offers a variety of restaurants, boutique shops and an exceptionally large number of fun activities visitors enjoy. With the extensive list of available activities to choose from, your visit to Avalon can be adventure-packed or filled with rest and relaxation, it’s your choice.
On the big day, you’ll enjoy the 134th Tournament of Roses
Parade from your reserved premium grandstand seating. Watch the parade make its way down Colorado Boulevard and see the floats up close as they glide right past you. After the parade, enjoy a Southern California Backyard BBQ and free time to enjoy the remainder of the day as you choose.
