Our tour will provide a glimpse into life in Dorchester County where for hundreds of years crabbing, fishing, farming and wildlife have been the focus. We’ll visit Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, which encompasses more than 28,000 acres of woodlands, rich tidal marsh, freshwater ponds and managed cropland – great for bird watching, so be sure to bring your camera. Experience two floors of exhibits, spotting scopes, a butterfly garden, TV monitors to view the eagle and osprey cams, gift shop and more. Then, after a morning of touring we will enjoy a crab feast at Old Salty’s Restaurant with beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay. Leisure time on your own is also provided to enjoy all that Annapolis has to offer.
BLUE ANGELS at FLEET WEEK IN MARYLAND
September 12, 2020 from $219 pp
Celebrate the rich maritime traditions of the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland’s contributions to the country’s defense as we explore the Inner Harbor and enjoy the festivities of the annual Maryland Fleet Week & Air Show. Fleet Week will feature 20 ships, including U.S. Navy, British and Canadian “grey hulls.” A three-hour cruise will provide opportunities to view the Blue Angels, the United States Navy’s flight demonstration squadron, as they perform. The Blue Angels were formed in 1946, making it the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team in the world. The Blue Angels’ six demonstration pilots fly the F/A-18 Hornet and still employ many of the same practices and techniques used in their aerial displays from 1946.
