AAA Central Penn is an authorized PennDOT messenger service and tag issuing agent. Driver license, online vehicle title and registration services are offered at all of our AAA Central Penn branch locations. Our experienced staff can assist members with title transfers, registration and renewal or replacement of driver’s licenses documents, address changes and many other types of transactions. Many of our PennDOT online services give our members one-stop shopping in which they can walk out with their registration card, registration sticker and license plate. AAA also offers help with specialized services and documentation such as special and personalized plates, disability plates and placards, classic car registration and historic plates.
Services are available to both members and non-members at a nominal processing fee. Charges are assessed to the buyer in title transactions. Fees are significantly discounted for our AAA members, making this a valuable membership benefit. Club processing fees are in addition to PennDOT and online fees.
Our license and titling services offer convenience for AAA members. Services are available Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings. Offices
are open on most PennDOT holidays. Members can walk- in anytime with
no appointment necessary; however, please remember
to plan accordingly. Wait times may
vary and titling transactions typically take about 20 to 25 minutes to complete.
In order to provide its members with the most efficient and expedited service possible, please insure that you have the following basic items with you upon arrival. A valid PA driver’s license or state-issued photo ID, the original title for the vehicle, current registration card, proof of current PA insurance, will or power of attorney, along with an original death certificate or short certificate, exact mileage of the vehicle being sold, and bill of sale. Vehicles titled in another state must be brought to the AAA office for the agent to verify the VIN (vehicle identification number). A legible tracing of the number or verification by a qualified
PA inspection mechanic is acceptable. Personal appearance is required for the buyer and seller for all vehicle transfers.
Due to new PennDOT requirements starting on January 1, 2017, cash or credit cards will be the only accepted forms of payment for PennDOT titling and license fees. Cash, check or credit card are acceptable forms of payment for AAA Central Penn fees.
