giving guests a stress-free, friendly atmosphere with award-winning cuisine and dining venues (the food
is absolutely delicious); a variety of accommodations, including the luxurious and pampering butler suites; Canyon Ranch spa treatments and gracious ship-wide service and attention to all guests – at a fantastic value.
Celebrity Cruises offers six types of suites, each boasting its own unique design, décor and style. I splurged on a spacious Sky Suite through a special suite sales promotion and it was worth every penny. Our suite benefits included a private lounge with unlimited beverages including cocktails, wine, sparkling waters, specialty coffees, savory treats
and a personal concierge; an exclusive suites-
only restaurant, Luminae, that truly exceeded our expectations; gracious butler service (still going through withdrawal from “our Tanya”); unlimited Wi-Fi; prepaid gratuities and so much more.
I’ve been a fan of Celebrity since it began many years ago with Celebrity Horizon and Celebrity Zenith sailing to Bermuda and the Caribbean. Today, with 13 ships in the fleet and the excitement surrounding the recent launch of Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Cruises is poised to shake up the industry with this revolutionary new ship. Beginning in early 2019, Celebrity will roll-out their Revolution ship-wide upgrades and refurbishments to the entire fleet, including Celebrity Summit in February.
Be sure to ask your favorite AAA cruise expert about the special AAA Central Penn Bermuda group sailing May 19-26, 2019 on the newly refurbished Summit.

When I first began cruising the world in 1985 it was practically unheard of for women to be in any onboard senior staff positions, other than housekeeping, nursing and
reception.
Nowadays there are female cruise ship captains and hotel directors popping up everywhere. On my recent Celebrity Summit sailing, women held many of the most coveted positions aboard the ship – including staff captain, hotel director, doctor, suite manager, suite concierge manager, and suite butler. And if that’s not enough, Celebrity Cruises President & CEO is Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, and the first American woman to become a mega cruise ship captain is Kate McCue, who began as Master of Celebrity Summit in 2015 and is now the captain of the Celebrity Equinox.
Currently, Captain Charalampos Theocharis (better known as Captain Charis) is the Commander in Charge of the Summit. As a husband and father of
three daughters, he is quite familiar and comfortable in a world filled with women.
Celebrity Summit, which carries 2,200 passengers, has regularly scheduled weeklong sailings to beautiful Bermuda April through September from her homeport in Bayonne (Cape Liberty), New Jersey. It was a great and convenient choice for my annual mother-daughter cruise vacation this past August.
Visiting all seven continents, Celebrity cruises are designed for an upscale clientele wanting a modern and sophisticated vacation experience at sea – without breaking the bank.
Everything about a Celebrity ship is inspired by extensive research,
