If you appreciate great beers and would like to delve into the secrets of the brewing process as well as taste an array of the hardy quaffs, follow us along the brewery trail in Chicago and Milwaukee, where breweries take center stage against a backdrop of famed cityscapes.
Begin in the exciting city of Chicago, which draws visitors for its iconic attractions, dynamic dining scene and, of course, great beer. Take a tour of famous Michigan Avenue, often referred to as the “Magnificent Mile,” and enjoy the many sights along the way, including the Wrigley Building, the Loop, the Lakefront and Millennium Park. The highlight of this evening is the Lagunitas Tap Room and Beer Sanctuary for a guided tour and tasty beer. Perhaps grab a bite to eat and enjoy the live music. On tap the next day is a guided, behind-the-scenes tour of Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, and you’ll enjoy free time to explore the magnificent city sights on your own.
We’ll then hit the road for Milwaukee, best known for its famous breweries and the Major League Brewers. First stop, the Miller Brewery, a historical Milwaukee landmark. Take a guided tour of the brewery, which boasts over 155 years of brewing history with a modern-day twist, including their famous underground caves and Bavarian-Style Miller Inn. Then head
to the Milwaukee Brewing Company for a tour and a beer composed of the best local ingredients.
The next afternoon, experience real old-world charm and the good cheer of Gemutlichkeit at its finest at Best Place at the Historic Brewery, with a guided tour and beer. Learn about the colorful history and roots of Pabst Brewing Company, which run deep in Milwaukee’s proud brewing history with over 175 years of brewing experience. Later there will be opportunity to visit the impressive Pabst Mansion to learn about the Pabst family
