four Mississippi River cruises for

Mississippi itinerary, America’s
Great River, from St. Paul,
Minnesota, to New Orleans, Louisiana, spanning the length of the iconic river, including 11 guided tours over 15 days. Enjoy relaxing scenic sailing and unparalleled birdwatching as the landscape changes from the
bluffs of the North to the bayous of the South, history and culture unfolding along the way. Learn about the American civil rights movement and the Civil War. Along the way, tap your feet to the rhythm of American folk, soul and jazz music — and taste a delicious array of regional cuisine.
Viking also offers three additional eight-day cruises: Heart of the Delta, New Orleans & Southern Charms
and America’s Heartland. Sail from New Orleans to Memphis on Heart of the
Delta, immersing yourself in history and heritage. Soak up the rich French and Acadian cultures that infuse the Lower Mississippi and be inspired by the stories
of famed musicians and civil rights heroes.
Savor delicious Cajun and Creole cuisine, as well as Memphis’ famous barbecue. And stir your soul with the rhythms of Dixieland jazz, Delta blues and gospel.
Savor the flavors of the Old South
on New Orleans & Southern Charms, another eight-day itinerary, boasting
six guided tours – roundtrip from
New Orleans. You will find the Lower Mississippi captivating, as you witness the overflow of charm, history and hospitality. Explore historic estates and visit notable Civil War sites. Sample the bustling French-flavored port cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Sway to the tempos of Dixieland jazz, gospel and blues. The final Mississippi River itinerary, America’s Heartland, takes you along the Upper
Mississippi, a scenic cultural tapestry. On this enlightening journey, you will enjoy six guided tours, allowing experiences like hearing stories of pioneers and the Lewis and Clark Expedition; walking in the footsteps of Mark Twain; and learning about the Norwegian migration. Enjoy the view as your ship navigates through the river’s intricate lock system.
