Special Events at Walt Disney World Resort

There is always something unique happening in Walt Disney World, but sometimes it can be difficult to decide when is best to go or what to do while there. If you’re planning your upcoming trip, it can help to take a look at the list of special events happening during each season. Here are some of the most exciting events to check out throughout the year.
Disney Princess Half Marathon
Feb. 21-24
Runners and walkers welcome! This runDisney event allows people of all ages to come to the parks and run together in the most magical place on earth. The half marathon is a 13.1-mile course that runs across the property and through certain parks. There are a variety of events all through the weekend, such
as the Princess 5K, Enchanted 10K and Fairy Tale Challenge, a two-day endurance test. The runDisney Health & Fitness Expo takes place before the races start, allowing participants access to exclusive merchandise and experiences. Each level of participation has its own cost associated. Don’t worry; you’ll get a medal to take home for your hard work!
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
March 6 – June 3
The Flower & Garden Festival is an annual event at Epcot that combines brilliant blooms with culture and characters. At springtime, there are grand topiary displays throughout Epcot. These are sculptures in theme with areas in the park as well as coordinating characters. Guests can sample
all sorts of foods around the World Showcase at
the outdoor kitchens. Try the Frushi (fruit sushi); it’s delicious! The Garden Rocks Concert Series brings in popular bands on select nights. You also can take home special festival merchandise. Access to Flower & Garden comes with your regular park admission. Tours are available at an additional charge.
Star Wars Rival Run Weekend
April 4-7
Galactic athletes and fans, this is the choice for you. Like the Princess Half Marathon earlier in the year, this runDisney weekend also features several runs such a Rival Run 5K and 10K, kids races and exclusive access to race gear
and characters from the beloved movies. Each level of participation has its own cost associated.
