WARM AND COZY RECIPES

Red Hot Love Candy Apples
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of white sugar
3/4 cup of water
1/2 cup of corn syrup
8 drops of red food coloring
5 drops of cinnamon oil
5 apples (we use Granny Smith) wooden skewers or sticks candy thermometer
Clean apples with vinegar and hammer sticks in the top of apples. Place on waxed paper on a cookie sheet. Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in a heavy-bottomed pot and heat mixture until its 305-310 degrees F. Turn off the heat and add coloring and cinnamon oil to taste and color preference. Dip apples in candy until covered and place back on cookie sheet. Turn pot to help cover apple. Any leftover candy can
be drizzled on the apples or poured onto a cookie sheet and eaten after cooled. Let apples sit for at least 20 minutes before bagging or eating. Serves 5.
