New Insurance Options
Anew decade brings new possibilities and that includes insurance options that may or may not have existed in the previous 10 years. It’s the perfect time for an update on what’s new and exciting to protect your most valuable possessions better.
Consider looking into some of the following:
“Equipment Breakdown” is an endorsement many carriers offer. This coverage protects you in the event kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, lawn and garden equipment, computer and wireless devices systems fail. It can cost up to $15,000 to repair a home electrical panel should it fail, causing wiring damage. This endorsement, added to your homeowner’s policy, can give you additional peace of mind. Limits can be chosen for this protection, subject to the deductible.
“Service Line Coverage” is proving to be quite a popular choice. Water and sewer line breaks are always in the news, especially in cities with old and/or original pipeline infrastructure. Something you might not realize is that should these pipes break or burst, it is up to
the homeowner to repair or replace the damaged underground piping on their property. With this added endorsement, coverage is available for the cost of excavation, damage to outdoor property and repair to the service line. This is subject to limits and a deductible. “Accident Forgiveness” can be added to your auto policy as an endorsement. Accidents happen and
very often you will notice an increase in your insurance premium after the fact. Having this endorsement will avoid the increase for your first surcharge-able accident in a given time period. It’s pretty inexpensive to add on, so why not give yourself the extra peace of mind? Safeco Insurance offers a “Claims-Free Cash Back” program with its Ultra and Superior 12-month auto policies. This program rewards eligible auto customers for driving safely and staying claims-free. Those who are eligible and remain claims-free for up to six months receive a check for 2.5% of their annual premium automatically, two checks per year – that’s a total of 5% cashback annually. Programs like this can help keep your costs down and encourage you to continue safe, claim-free driving.
