AAA Visa® MemberPay Prepaid Cards – Many regular prepaid debit cards are not redeemable outside of the United States. This prepaid card can be used
at millions of merchants and ATMs worldwide. Plus, this card has a low 3-percent foreign transaction fee. This is a safe alternative that isn’t connected to a bank or credit accounts and limits spending to the amount on the card. It also can be reloaded. AAA Member Rewards Visa Signature® Card
– Exclusively for AAA members, this card has no
annual fee and you automatically earn points on every purchase: 3x points per dollar on qualifying AAA and travel purchases, 2x points per dollar on gas, grocery store, and drug store purchases, 1 point per dollar everywhere else. The best part is as of Oct. 1, 2016, this card no longer has foreign transaction fees.
International Driving Permit – Will you be driving while abroad? In most other countries, your U.S.-issued driver’s license is not valid without a supplemental document called an International Driving Permit. IDPs must be obtained in the country where your driver’s license was issued. IDPs can be purchased at the AAA Travel Store and the process quick and easy.
Converters/Adapters – Power outlets in the United States are different from outlets in foreign countries. Most times, electronic appliances have different sized plugs
and require an adapter. In this country, our electricity is 110-volt, whereas many other countries use 220-volt power. Appliances like blow driers and curling irons, as well as motorized items like a toothbrush or razors, require a voltage converter. Some devices are dual voltage, so check the product information to find out what you’ll need.
RFID Wallets – Many of the documents we carry with us like credit cards and identification have electronic components that make it easy for an electronic pickpocket to steal our information.
