What’s New for the Season Ahead?
Looking for something fun, affordable and exciting to do with friends, family or co-workers this summer? Think about spending a night (or two, or three) at
beautiful Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy and catch the Tri-City ValleyCats as they offer
up exciting professional baseball
with an electric atmosphere. Minor
League Baseball provides some of the most valuable family friendly entertainment throughout the country and, lucky for you, it’s in your own backyard.
A Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros, the ValleyCats have been
a summer staple in the Capital District since 2002, delivering an enjoyable evening to all ages and interests. The ValleyCats host 38 home games spanning from mid- June through early September.

Major League stars begin their
professional baseball careers.
More than 55 ValleyCats players
have gone on to reach Major
League Baseball, some of the most notable including four-time batting champion Jose Altuve, World Series MVPs George Springer and Ben Zobrist, Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel and All-Star and World Series champion Hunter Pence.
A member of the 14-team New York-Penn League, ValleyCats opponents include affiliates of the New York Yankees and Mets, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals and more. On
the field, the ValleyCats have been very successful. The organization has won eight Stedler Division titles and three New York-Penn League championships. Their third league title came just last year, which they will be defending this summer within the friendly confines of Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
Affectionately known as “The
Joe,” the stadium is conveniently located on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. “The Joe” features plenty of free parking, a wide concourse with 4,500 fixed seats, two grass berm seating areas, four unique picnic locations, 10 luxury suites and a 36-foot-by-17-foot LED video board. This year marks the 18th season of ValleyCats baseball and the slate of promotions will include a mix of past fan favorites, along with new and thrilling themes. There also will be 15 postgame
fireworks extravaganzas.
Opening Night takes place Sunday, June 16, with the
ValleyCats welcoming the Staten Island Yankees to town. The ‘Cats will unveil their 2018 New York-Penn League championship banner and fans can enjoy Sunday Funday
