Jingle All the Way...
to Nashville
To listen to the Gearwar’s winning AAA Jingle track, visit AAA.com/AAAYourWay.
Earlier this year, we asked musicians all around AAA: So, tell us ... what was it like to visit Nashville,
town to submit their version of the AAA jingle for a chance to record it in a professional studio and to win a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, for two. Once the top three were selected, the public was given a chance to vote. We interviewed the winners, Scarlett Gearwar, 15 (above right), and Gabriel Gearwar Jr., 12, (above left), along with their mother, Alicia.
AAA Every Day: How did you hear about the AAA Jingle Contest and what made you want to enter?
Scarlett: I heard about the AAA jingle contest from a AAA e-mail with information about it. I wanted to submit an entry for this jingle because it seemed like a great opportunity to show off my voice with my brother.
AAA: Congratulations on winning the whole thing. What did that mean to you to receive the news?
Gabriel Jr.: When we found out we made it to the voting round, I was really excited.
Alicia: I heard the news first and started screaming. The kids were laughing at me. Their grandmother and aunt were also with us when we found out and shared our excitement.
Tennessee?
Scarlett: It was lots of fun being surrounded by music and amazing food. I loved the sweet tea there.
Alicia: We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, the National Museum of African American Music (Gabriel’s favorite since he loves Whitney Houston) and the Ryman Auditorium (the original Opry building).
AAA: Was there any part of your trip that stood out?
Gabriel Jr.: There was music every single day and it was really good. Also, there were restaurants owned by famous people.
Alicia: One of the highlights for me was in the Ryman Auditorium. They had a recording studio and I signed up for two slots. The kids recorded “Amazing Grace” and I recorded “Hey Good Lookin.” I can’t sing like the kids can, but it was still lots of fun.
AAA: You guys got to record the jingle in a professional studio. How was that experience?
Scarlett: Recording in a professional studio was a new and educational experience for me. It was way different than just doing a live performance. It was lots of fun to do.
