  Ithaca
(approx. 3 hours from Albany)
You’ve definitely heard the saying “Ithaca is Gorges.” This is a play on the presence of beautiful state parks and recreational opportunities available at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake. While Ithaca is a quaint town, it is award-winning when it comes to apple cider. If you’re looking to enjoy the great outdoors, try a hike to any of the 100-plus waterfalls in Ithaca. Taughannock Falls and Cascadilla Gorge are two highlights worth mentioning. Plus, Ithaca’s outdoor shopping district between Green and Seneca Streets contains several unique boutiques, galleries and gourmet restaurants.
