of The Falls,” this Edwardian- style hotel built in 1904 is surrounded by tropical gardens, lily ponds and century-old shade trees. That evening’s sunset dinner cruise drifts along pods
of hippos cavorting in the river and elephants making their way along the riverbank for a last call refreshment before settling down
for the night.
The next morning,
a walk in the misty
rainforest trails of Victoria
Falls reveals rainbows. Local tribes once called the waterfall Mosi-o-Tunya, “The smoke that thunders,” and it’s easy to hear and see why. Blessed by nature, it’s not a bad way to end this spectacular 10- day journey before heading back to Johannesburg for the
connecting flight home. Leaving is not an easy thing but, like most visitors, a return trip is already on the list.
