However, when it comes to insuring your vintage beauty, you want to make sure the special vehicle is insured correctly. When getting ready to find specialized coverage for your classic, it’s important to keep these things in mind:
• Vehicles don’t have to be 25 years or older to be considered classic or to qualify for a classic car policy, as long as the vehicle is considered to be collectible.

In the event of a total loss, older vehicles that are insured on an ordinary auto policy are often paid out Actual Cash Value. With a classic car auto policy, it is important to determine what your classic or collectible is worth. Several factors determine the agreed value, however the insurance company will pay the agreed amount if there is a covered total loss.
Don’t just think of cars when you think of a classic vehicle; there are other fun toys considered “vintage” that can be insured. Boats, motorcycles, tractors, military vehicles, vehicles under construction, retired commercial vehicles and many more can be covered with classic or collectable distinction.
