We were able to go to the Seaside for all events and entertainment.
Opting for Butler Elite was definitely the right move
for us. Our butlers, Ray and Moria, were absolutely fantastic. They made all our dining reservations, brought us from Butler Village to the Seaside, walked us to all dinners and set up our tables, provided nightly turndown service, etc. They were extremely accommodating
when it came to everything we needed. The customized service provided made our experience memorable and was second to none. For our anniversary, my husband had planned a private beach dinner and the staff worked with him to keep it a secret from me. They did a great job because I had no clue!
As much as I enjoyed the resort and all its luxurious amenities, I did opt-in to a couple of excursions as well, both of which were no more than 20 minutes from our resort.
Even though this was my first big vacation in more than a year, I felt safe throughout my entire trip. I felt comfortable on the plane and in the airport where masks were mandatory, even on a full flight. The staff at the resort and on excursions always wore masks. There
were plenty of sanitization stations throughout the property. Our baggage was handled with care, sanitized before and after each transfer and again once it got to our room. We were welcomed at every point of our Jamaican adventure and the appreciation of seeing people again after so long was humbling.

Snorkel and Dunn’s River Falls
Everyone I talked to said “make sure you do Dunn’s River Falls”, so, of course, I had
to book it! It turned out to be one of the best excursions I have
ever taken, as it genuinely got me out of my comfort zone. Lead by Island Routes, the excursion company directly through Sandals, the catamaran picked us up on the dock. We snorkeled for about an hour and then we were dropped off at the beach entrance for Dunn’s River. Our guide led us 960 feet up to Dunn’s River Falls. The guides climbed barefoot (and effortlessly
at that) while the guests needed water shoes. At
each stop, there was rushing water, low overhead clearances and the photo spot which consisted of waterfalls flowing into pools. Tip: Unless your phone or camera is waterproof, don’t bring it with you. They had a videographer that documented the whole climb and at the end, you could choose to purchase it.
Royal Dolphin Swim at Dolphin Discovery
I have been swimming with dolphins before, but my husband had not and I wanted to share that experience with him. We booked this excursion upon
arrival. While waiting for our swim time, we admired the park attached to Dolphin Discovery with an aviary, iguanas, shark encounter, a nursery for the baby dolphins and, oddly enough, rabbits. We wound up meeting an employee who took us over to the nursery, gave us a tour on the docks and showed us the sharks.
Once we got to swimming, it lasted about an hour. We were with two dolphins, Mitch and Toni.
The experience included pushes: belly to belly, dorsal fin, foot push and boogie board. Overall, it was enjoyable, with knowledgeable trainers and dolphins that loved every bit of attention (just like dogs do).
