 Local Gym Cares About
You and Your Health
ABC Sports and Fitness in Latham is so much guests and members will see the difference in how much
more than a gym. ABC is a community of like- minded, health-conscious and hardworking people. This fitness center is not focused on the equipment but on the community and the culture. The
gym brings people together from every
background and nationality. ABC’s
goal is a simple one – To unite for one
common cause, to better our health.
One motto ABC uses is that the success of the gym is not based on the number of memberships, but success is determined by the impact it can have on those members and the surrounding community. Last year alone, ABC donated to more than 100 local charities and community events.
Not only does ABC support other events and organizations, but it also boasts in-house programs. The Lift for the 22 is a program where 22 free gym memberships are given out every year to local veterans to help combat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. ABC also is home to two Special Olympics teams, the
ABC Spartans Powerlifting Team and Mighty Pucks Hockey Team. With so many on staff who are big animal advocates, there is even an in-house rescue organization called ABC Animal Rescue.
The longest-running gym in the area, ABC Sport and Fitness has been serving the local community for 32 years. As a family-owned and family-operated business,
the staff cares about them as well as their health. The pandemic forced everyone to take a more intensive look at their overall well-being and physical conditions. It has
identified the need to improve nutrition, exercise and lifestyle management.
On staff, ABC employs personal trainers, nutritionists, a chiropractor and massage therapists. Within the facility, you also can find a full supplement
and clothing shop, as well as premade healthy meals to go. There are more than 40 group fitness classes to choose from weekly including yoga, Zumba, Pilates, HIIT, SPIN and senior fitness classes. Additionally, there are new cardio and circuit machines, a boxing section, an
indoor track and a dedicated tanning space. Inside, there is even the Albany Barbell Club, the area’s premier weight-training facility. The owner even welds and fabricates custom machines just for ABC.
These days, prices of many things seem to have skyrocketed, however, ABC has decided to keep pricing the same. Health needs to be a priority and it should be affordable. People who join ABC are not regarded as members, but as family who will be supported in any and every way possible.
AAA Members save at ABC Sports and Fitness. Stop by the gym any time for a tour of the facility or visit abcsportsandfitness.com.
Matt Doheney is the General Manager of ABC Sports and Fitness. The gym is at 3 Johnson Road in Latham.
