There’s always something new and exciting happening at Florida’s theme parks. With so many family attractions, you could easily spend several days exploring and still not experience everything you had hoped to.
WALT DISNEY WORLD® THEME PARKS
Walt Disney World’s four Orlando Theme Parks –
Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom – make the real world seem far, far away.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is this year the site of some new additions. Sunset Kilimanjaro Safaris is expanding to include a nighttime schedule that leads visitors through Africa’s savanna, while introducing African wild dogs and hyenas to the park. Also new
is “Rivers of Light,” an innovative entertainment experience set along Discovery River.
In December 2015, Disney opened Star Wars Launch Bay, located on a new 14-acre park site at Hollywood Studios. The Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will provide guests with insight into the latest movie franchise installment, Star War Wars: The Force Awakens. This year Disney is also premiering Season of the Force, providing special entertainment and the new Hyperspace Mountain.
Sure, there has been much ado about Star Wars
at Walt Disney World, but the park has added many other new attractions and will continue doing so well into 2017.
UNIVERSAL ORLANDO® RESORT
Certainly one of Orlando’s biggest attractions is Universal Orlando Resort, which features two theme parks – Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure – as well as City Walk, a 30-acre entertainment complex, and the waterpark Wet ‘n Wild Orlando.
At Universal Studios Florida theme park, enjoy cutting-edge attractions based on pop-culture icons, blockbuster films and hit television shows that transport visitors into a highly imaginative world where they can become heroes of their own adventure.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park features innovative rides and attractions on seven themed islands, including the new and wildly popular The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which brings the excitement and adventure of the Harry Potter books and films to life. Opening this summer is Skull Island:
Reign of Kong, a
monstrous new ride.
BUSCH GARDENS, TAMPA
Busch Gardens, Tampa has received many media accolades, recognized for being an entertainment company that blends imagination with nature.
Busch Gardens’ Discovery Cove is a one-of-a kind experience where you can swim with bottlenose dolphins, feed tropical birds, play inches from otters, and even walk on the ocean floor.
At SeaWorld Orlando, visit the Penguin Encounter, where 6,000 pounds of snow falls every day. On SeaWorld’s newest adventure ride, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, find yourself being transported into the rarely seen and icy world of Antarctica. Coming this summer: Mako, which will be Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster, and Cobra’s Curse, a one-of-a-kind family spin coaster.
