CHICAGO, IT’S YOUR KIND OF TOWN By Dorothy Crouch
The summer season is drawing near, which brings with it travel planning for warm-weather fun. As one of the United States’ most popular cities, Chicago boasts a large assortment of summer activities, attractions and shopping opportunities.
Upon arriving in Chicago, visitors should recover from traveling into the city by relaxing on a tour highlighting the city’s most impressive sites. Embarking upon an escorted motor coach tour
of Chicago allows comfortable exploration and prevents the frustration of navigating through crowded streets. Chicago’s popular sites, including Daley Plaza’s tree, Buckingham Fountain, Wrigley Field and The Magnificent Mile are not to be missed!
The Magnificent Mile is home to entertainment attractions to keep visitors busy and retail experiences that offer the perfect souvenirs to remember an extraordinary Chicago vacation. Walk the mile while shopping popular brands including George Greene, Vince, Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet, OSKA, Galt
Toys + Galt Baby, the Blackhawks Store, Chicago Cubs Clubhouse Water Tower Place and Tails in the City – to find goods for furry loved ones. Many opportunities to sample gourmet food and groceries also exist at the Magnificent Mile.

Monday through Thursday nights. Each night features a free concert and visitors are encouraged to prepare goods to picnic in The Garden. For visitors who want to forego preparing for a picnic, the Garden Grille affords a vast menu of sustainably sourced, seasonally inspired dishes. Space is available on the outdoor terrace and on May 27, the Rose Terrace Beer Garden opens with craft beer from Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois. Also serving appetizers, sandwiches, salads and wine, the space can be found at the Linden Allée near the Krasberg Rose Garden.
As organizations in other cities replace their beloved baseball stadiums, Chicago’s Wrigley Field still stands, as glorious as it did during its opening in 1914. Coming off of a Chicago Cubs World Series Championship in 2016, the city still feels the excitement, as the team
