TIPS TO EXTEND
THE LIFE OF YOUR SMARTPHONE BATTERY
Dim the screen brightness or use auto brightness
Extend the life of your battery dramatically by using auto-brightness – it adjusts the screen’s brightness to ambient lighting levels.
Keep the screen timeout short
This refers to the time it takes for your smartphone to go to sleep (screen turns off ). Every second counts here, so consider reducing that figure to 30 seconds or less.
Turn off Wi-Fi
Leaving Wi-Fi on is a serious battery drainer. Turn it off when you go out the door, and turn it back on only when you plan to use a Wi-Fi network.
Don’t leave apps running in the background
Apps running can burn a lot of energy. By killing apps that you aren’t actually using, you can drastically reduce your CPU’s workload and cut down on its power consumption.

The Valley’s hottest veggie race returns for its 12th year! Get ready to squash the competition in this fun and zany race. Entry fee $5 – includes your choice of zucchini, wheels & axles, commemorative racing necklace, and access to carving tools and accessories with expert assistance from the Zuke 500 Pit Crew. Carving period 9 am – 10:45 a.m. Race begins at 11:00 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest car in each category: Sports Car, Mid-Size and Monster
Truck. Cars may be pre-carved but wheels must be attached directly to zucchini. Chassis or platforms of any sort are strictly prohibited. Don’t forget to visit the Zucchini 500 photo station where you can snap a pic of your friends or family in a zucchini car!

ages. Offering three funpacked days in the great outdoors, it’s a perfect way for families to celebrate summer. This year, we celebrate our 55th Annual Fescht, so come cruisin’ through 42 acres of fun at the Fescht – and enjoy the great things classic summers are made of. Admission Includes all events, shows, and entertainment. This year’s featured car will be the Packard. Entertainment by Acoustic Kitty Project, Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods, Steve Brosky Band with Jimmy Meyer and MORE!
Also - Indoor Toy show held at Eyer Middle School, just a few blocks from the park! Outdoor Toy show on Saturday, August 5 in the parking areas of Shoemaker & Macungie Elementary School.
