Steve Lindemann, President
Summer is right around the corner and if you are like me, I’m ready for it after the long and brutal winter that we endured.
This May is more special than previous years at AAA Northampton County. We will be celebrating our 100-year anniversary! I’m proud to be
leading such a fine organization. Most companies don’t last 100 years, and many that do make it to 100 are limping along. I’m proud to say that AAA Northampton County is crossing the 100-year mark stronger than ever! Membership, travel and insurance sales are at record highs, which is the result of the hardworking employees we have had over the years. Our employees go the extra mile to provide members with the best service possible.
Things have certainly changed over the years, but
providing great customer service has never changed, which is what keeps our members coming back. AAA Northampton County continues to be committed to providing members with great values.
To celebrate 100 years, AAA Northampton County will be hosting a Member Appreciation Event May 12-25. During this celebration we will be offering special discounts on travel, memberships, Travel Store items, and discounts on Penn Dot service fees, along with informative consumer talks. On May 12, we will have
a special speaker coming to discuss ID theft, and on May 15 we will be offering a packing seminar, which will provide tips to help you get the most out of your luggage space.
Finally, and most important, thank you for your loyalty over the years; without it we would not be here today!
I hope you and your family have a happy and healthy summer.
IDENTITY THEFT: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!
David Watts
Identity theft has become almost routine in modern life. Just about everyone is at risk to one degree or another,
with no apparent easing of concern for the
Watts takes on this insidious dilemma in his one-hour power point presentation, Identity Theft: What You Need to Know! From China and Russia to our very own communities, Watts details the true nature of identity theft and the impact it has on society. This presentation goes far beyond the thirty-second blurb you get from television news or even the local newspaper. You will understand the threat we all face and the best ways to protect yourself going forward. Free handouts from the Federal Trade Commission are available as guidelines for facing up to identity theft, as well.
Again, identity theft cannot be prevented. Privacy is all but dead and our data is out there. But we don’t roll over and take it. We fight back by educating ourselves how to best navigate life in these challenging times.

future. Governments are targeted. Medical records are compromised. Business is under assault. Innocent people are having their identities used by criminals when those bad guys are arrested. Even a major credit bureau has been hacked. Identity theft is much more than credit card fraud with no end in sight. And it cannot be prevented!
