TRAVEL SPOTLIGHT:
on every block there is at least one foot massage spa, which I didn’t understand until the end of the trip and by then I fully appreciated why there are so many of them.
On our first night, we went
to Cooper Monkey Bar and
Grill. When we arrived, we were
concerned we might not be
able to eat there because of the
lack of an accessible entrance.
Something we noticed with
several buildings in the area is
that to enter you have to step
up about 3 or 4 inches and with
my mother’s mobility scooter, it
would have been a tough task.
As we started to walk away a very friendly employee at the door insisted on watching the scooter while we went in to eat; that is how friendly they are. My fiancé got the gumbo he was craving, mom swore by the pasta salad and I can confirm Po’boys are seriously out of this world.
There are parades several times throughout the day for really any reason you can think of and so many shops and restaurants. New Orleans has something for everyone from the excitement of
New Orleans
By Rhylee Hasel
Irecently had the opportunity this past fall to visit the loud and proud city of New Orleans. The
moment I stepped off the plane at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
I could tell I wasn’t in Kanas anymore. (Well, at least I wasn’t in
New York anymore.) From New York, we are all about the hustle and bustle, eyes forward and focused on where we are going. It is very similar there except New Orleans natives can do that while fully enjoying a conversation with a total stranger.
After a short 25-minute ride from the airport to the hotel I arrived at the W New Orleans French Quarter Hotel. A gorgeous hotel, completely unique and full of color. I checked in and browsed the hotel property for a bit. My family and I started heading down shortly after to Charles Street, which is the street
our hotel is located on and immediately noticed the stone streets, live music and stunning buildings. One of the first things I noticed while walking is that
Bourbon Street, steamboat evening jazz cruises, Plantation tours, Voodoo cemetery guided tours and airboat adventures through the swamps. Whatever attraction is the reason why you decide to visit I strongly recommend having local breakfast while you are there, hands down best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had in my life.
If New Orleans has been on your bucket list, please stop in, call or meet one of our Travel Experts virtually to plan to visit this unique destination.
