Every year, automakers roll out dozens of new cars, utility vehicles and trucks, hoping consumers will be bitten by the new-car bug. Highlights for this year include a new-generation of small crossover utility vehicles. But before you start shopping, here are some new cars that may not be in dealer showrooms yet, but might just be worth waiting for.
2015 JEEP RENEGADE
Jeep’s all new rugged, cartoonish-looking subcompact crossover will slot below the Cherokee and above the outgoing Patriot and Compass. Base models will be front-wheel drive, with available full-time 4x4. Two four-cylinder engines will be offered, the smaller paired with a six-speed
manual transmission, and the larger a nine-speed automatic.

2015 FORD EDGE
Ford’s popular midsized utility vehicle has been completely restyled for 2015 and is a rolling showcase of what’s new from Ford. It will be loaded with new safety technologies and feature two
new and impressive Eco-Boost engines.

2016 VOLVO XC90
After skipping the 2015 model year, XC90 midsize crossover returns for 2016, and moves significantly upscale in status. There’s new styling, room for seven, new safety technologies, more fuel-efficient engines and a more premium interior.

2015 HONDA HR-V
The Honda HR-V is an all-new model built on the Honda Fit platform. It will be nine inches shorter than the Honda CR-V, yet seven inches longer than the Fit. It will feature a flexible interior, with rear seatbacks that fold flat and seat cushions that can fold up from the floor. A low tailgate opening spans more than 40 inches for ease in loading bulky cargo.

2015 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT
Land Rover introduces yet another SUV to its lineup with the new Discovery Sport. It will specifically target families with multiple children with a “5+2” seven-seat interior, standard all-wheel drive and a fuel-efficient four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It’s relatively small, measuring just 1.3 inches longer than a Honda Civic.

2015 CHEVROLET TRAX
Originally built for Europe and currently sold in Mexico and Canada, the Trax will be the smallest of Chevrolet’s utility vehicles, competing with the likes of Nissan Juke, Honda HR-V and Jeep Renegade. The front-wheel-drive Trax will
come in three trim levels, all powered by a 138-horsepower four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel
drive will be optional.
