AAA Schuylkill County Insurance Agency Offers Wedding Insurance from Travelers
No-deductible policy covers cancellation or postponement caused by severe weather, lost deposits, military deployment, and more
More than 3,000 weddings take place every day in the U.S., with the average cost now reaching $24,000 each.* Recognizing that the “big day” comes with a mighty financial commitment, AAA Schuylkill County Insurance Agency and Travelers offer the Wedding Protector PlanSM, an insurance policy covering weddings.
“A wedding is one of the first large investments a couple will make, both emotionally and financially,” said Sue Smyrl, Manager for AAA Schuylkill County Insurance Agency. “Because there are so many moving parts, there are many opportunities for something to go wrong. It is important to protect such an investment.”
The Wedding Protector plan provides coverage, with no deductible, for a variety of unfortunate occurrences associated with a wedding event. For example, coverage is provided if a hurricane causes the necessary and unavoidable cancellation or postponement of the event. Other coverages include postponement for withdrawal of military leave, forfeited and lost deposits, extra expenses associated with special attire, transportation, photographs, and entertainment expenses.
“A lot of time and money goes into planning your wedding,” said Smyrl. AAA Schuylkill County Insurance Agency wants to ensure that the wedding stays within your budget even if the unexpected happens.”
Vendor and venue problems remain the most frequent causes of wedding day mishaps for couples, according to an analysis of 2010 wedding insurance claims by Travelers.
For more information on the Wedding Protection Plan from Travelers, visit ProtectMyWedding.com, which offers a Risk Quiz to help consumers determine how much risk surrounds their wedding, plus examples of coverages provided. The website also offers an e-newsletter for newlyweds, which covers topics from lifestyle to money management tips, designed to help couples become in-synch with their lives as one.
As long as the wedding is more than 14 days away, it’s not too late. The Wedding Protector Plan can cover events in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, the Caribbean Islands (excluding Cuba and Haiti) and cruise ships leaving from a port within those territories (some restrictions apply).
Established in 1966, AAA Schuylkill County Insurance Agency is an independent insurance agency offering a full range of insurance products including auto, home, life and more.

Ding Dong the Dent is Dead!
You left your car outside overnight. Sure, you could have put it in the garage, but your favorite TV show was on and time got away from you. Unfortunately, a major storm rolled through during the night and in the morning you discover the hood, roof and trunk lid of your car are peppered with more hail dents than you care to count. What do you do next?
If you have comprehensive coverage you will want to contact your insurance company right away, but don’t rush to make an appointment with a body shop just yet. There is a much simpler and more cost-effective solution to be considered – paintless dent repair. PDR, as it is commonly known, is a method of removing small vehicle dents and dings without having to repaint the affected areas. As a result, it generally costs about 65 percent
less than traditional body repair methods while preserving the original factory finish.
Most small dents and dings can be repaired
using PDR, but the process requires a trained and experienced technician with specialized equipment. Prices start below $100 for a single small dent, but more extensive damage will naturally cost more. A simple PDR job can be completed in a day. What’s more, many PDR technicians offer mobile service for your convenience.
However, not every dent or ding can be removed using PDR. The process is not an option if the paint is damaged, a dent is too large or
the body panel has been creased and the metal stretched beyond its “memory” point. Some dents are also located in areas where there is no access for the repair tools.
To identify a reputable PDR provider, ask
family, friends, auto dealers or your insurance company. Online research and consumer reviews are other good sources of information, as is the Better Business Bureau and your state’s consumer protection agency and/or attorney general’s office.
