DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH INSURANCE?

Auto and home insurance is something we know we need; however, we generally don’t think about using it until an issue arises. Many people when shopping for insurance look to find the best
price, but often are not looking enough at coverage. In many cases your home is one of your largest assets and waiting until there is a claim is too late to determine if you have the correct coverage.
This became real to my wife and I last fall when we discovered a sink hole in our basement. I’m so glad we had purchased the sinkhole rider on our homeowners
policy years ago, because if we did not have sinkhole coverage, we would be responsible for the cost of repair, which is going to be well over $100,000. We are also lucky that our sink hole rider policy is very inclusive; however, as we are learning, many other companies do not offer the same coverage. If you are unsure of what your homeowners or auto polices cover, please take the time to meet with an insurance agent to make sure you have the right coverage for your level of risk. Don’t wait until it is too late.
