AAA BEST OF HOUSEKEEPING PROGRAM
AAA advocates for travelers like you – inspecting restaurants and hotels since 1937 and ensuing the highest quality conditions. Each on-site visit by an inspector is unannounced and comprehensive. For lodgings – encompassing bed-and-breakfasts, small inns, resorts and luxury hotels – common areas of guest rooms are visited by a AAA inspector.
These travel professionals follow their in-depth checklists to make sure they’re considering what more than 60 million AAA members want and expect. To date, AAA inspectors have evaluated 27,000
hotels in North America. One of the most important standards? Cleanliness. That’s where AAA’s Best of Housekeeping Program comes in. These properties rank in the top 25 percent of all AAA Diamond designated properties for housekeeping. When you see AAA’s logo and badge, you can feel confident that the property is working to meet your needs – and already has met AAA’s rigorous criteria for cleanliness and physical condition.
THE PROCESS
Trusted AAA inspectors consider a variety of factors during the process, but the following questions are some of the most important things they look for when they peer into the nooks and crannies of your guest room.
• Is the bedding fresh?
• Does the air conditioner need a new filter?
• Is the tub and/or shower clean?
• Do the windows or glass have fingerprints?
• If there are toiletries, are they sealed and secure? • Are fresh towels available?
• Are there fingerprints on the glassware in
the room?
To earn a Best of Housekeeping badge, all properties must be free of member complaints
for 12 rolling months and have maintained an excellent score in housekeeping for two consecutive inspections. AAA’s expectation is that all rooms will be well-kept and ready for the guest’s arrival.
Let AAA help you simplify your travel decisions and make the right choice for your budget and destination. Although all AAA Diamond properties are a good choice, the Best of Housekeeping badge redefines what it means to be top-rated as they
can run from AAA Approved to AAA Five Diamond. However, all hotels with this standard of cleanliness feature excellent housekeeping; as we said,
AAA inspectors check.
Hotels earning AAA Best of Housekeeping can
be found throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Caribbean. For more information, visit AAA.com/BestofHousekeeping.
