Hilton Head Island: A Perfect Resort Getaway
When you’re ready to slow down the pace and get off the fast track of life to feel your feet on a warm, sandy beach for a few days, pack your sandals and swimwear, grab the family, and make a trail for Hilton Head Island in South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
This semitropical island, which lies at the southern tip of the state, encompasses 12 miles of gleaming white-sand beaches and waters teaming with wildlife, including great blue heron, dolphins, manatees, snowy egrets, sea turtles and many species of fish. So, of course, there are plenty of water sports activities to enjoy, such as charter fishing, kayaking and parasailing. Hilton Head also claims to have some of the best family beaches in the country.
The Hilton Head Island’s landscape is itself
quite picturesque. Islanders embrace the natural environment with strong development restrictions. In the downtown area of Harbour Town, visitors can walk along a lovely circular marina where there are opportunities for shopping and dining. Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park is also a place to find trendy restaurants and bars. Situated along the Beaufort River, the park is perfect for nighttime strolls.

At the Coastal Discover Museum, learn about the history of the Lowcountry, and wander through its peaceful grounds.
Evening entertainment comes in many forms on Hilton Head. During the summer months, the Hilton
Head Symphony presents a selection of summer concerts, including the popular Symphony Under The Stars. Or enjoy an evening of comedy. After dinning at Pelican’s Pont Seafood & Steakhouse, head upstairs to take in a lounge performance at the Comedy Magic Cabaret.

The bus tour departs AAA Shelby County early in the morning on December 3 for the exciting city of Chicago!
On arrival in Chicago you have the opportunity to shop at your leisure or simply relax for a weekend away. The trip includes a two-night stay on Michigan Avenue, known as the Magnificent Mile, at the Chicago Marriott Downtown.
Everything you need to make this weekend a fun-filled adventure is within walking distance from your hotel. The motor coach returns to the AAA office in the evening of December 5.
