  Soak Up the Sun in
  The Bahamas
With pristine sands, sparkling blue water, and a temperate climate year-round, The Bahamas reign supreme as one the world’s premier fun-in- the-sun playgrounds. On these islands, everyday stress melts away as quickly as ice under the noonday sun.
The Bahamas archipelago, which begins 55 miles off the Florida coast, is comprised of some 700 islands – 30 of which are inhabited – spread over 100,000 square miles in the Atlantic. Water sports are, of course, among the favored activities for visitors; scuba diving is especially popular as the unsullied waters make for excellent reef diving, cave and shipwreck exploration. In recent years, the Bahamas have also become known for being one of the world’s premier golf destinations, with several challenging championship courses.
Nassau/Paradise Island is a port of call for many cruise ships. In Old Nassau, take a carriage tour or walk around the downtown area with its many historic sites. On Bay Street, shoppers delight at finding international goods such as British woolens,

French perfume, Japanese cameras, Swiss clocks, English china and Italian leather at duty-free prices. For original Bahamian handicrafts, the Straw Market is the bargaining place for mats, hats and jewelry.
For water thrills and
close encounters with
marine creatures, head to Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, one of the largest resorts in the world. The grounds contain a 14-acre waterscape of waterfalls, streams and lagoons filled with sea creatures and underwater viewing areas. Sea turtles float in the Hibiscus Lagoon while sharks and barracudas patrol the Predator Lagoon.
Guests cruising aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class ship in the Bahamas can also enjoy a full beach day at the cruise line’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Get ready for gallons of adventure
in the heart of the island, Thrill Waterpark – home to North America’s tallest waterslide, Daredevil’s Peak, one of 13 slides at the park. You’ll find another set of adventures at Thrill Waterpark’s other set of slides designed for multiple riders. The kids can leave their cares behind at Splashaway Bay with fountains, sprinklers, geysers and water cannons, plus five slides.
Ultimately, wherever you go in the Bahamas, you’ll find beautiful beaches and sunshine, and you will feel welcomed.
This isn’t vacation days spent. This is bragging rights earned. Conquer the tallest waterslide in North America and snap a shot from up to 450 feet up in a helium balloon. Grab a drink at the swim-up bar and soak up the scene in the largest freshwater pool in the Bahamas. Or get a taste of Bora Bora with your own Floating Cabana. This is Perfect Day at CocoCay — only on Royal Caribbean®.
