A Challenge for the
Over Worked and under Traveled
Given the demands of work, family and social obligations, finding time to enjoy the open road and local attractions around your area can be difficult. But regularly taking time for yourself and enjoying something new not only helps
you to feel more at ease, it also improves your productivity, physical and mental well-being.
With these tips we challenge you to pick a day, clear your schedule and enjoy the open road!
pick your Route
First and foremost, you need to decide how much time you can realistically remove yourself from the hustle
and bustle. Luckily, AAA offers custom trip itineraries for any time frame, even for as little as three to six hours! These custom itineraries can include photos, an overview map, driving itinerary, mileage, estimated driving time, sightseeing information and links to detailed information on cities, attractions and events. To start planning, visit the travel professionals at your local AAA office or check out AAA’s digital mapping tool – the triptik travel Planner, available on AAA.com and in the AAA Mobile app.
Be prepared for the unknown
No matter how far your trip takes you, it’s always important to drive distraction free and to be prepared
in case of a breakdown or incident. Get plenty of sleep
(at least six hours) the night before your day trip and schedule a break every two hours, or 100 miles, to avoid fatigued or drowsy driving. In case of an emergency, keepC
an emergency kit, cell phone and charger in the car at
