OHIO’S AMISH EXPERIENCE
Friday, Sept. 13
Experience a memorable day with the Ohio Amish and begin with a visit to Behalt – the Amish/Mennonite Heritage Center in Berlin for a 30-minute guided
tour about the history of the Amish and Mennonite faiths. Then we visit an Amish school and go inside a classroom to see what the students are learning. Enjoy an Amish buggy ride followed by included lunch in
an Amish home near Sugarcreek. In the afternoon, we visit an Old Order Amish buggy maker followed by
a stop at an Amish bulk food store near Berlin and a stop at an Amish basket maker near Walnut Creek. We will stop at Heini’s Cheese in Millersburg and can visit Kaufman’s Bakery and Bunker Hill Furnishings nearby. Before returning to Akron, we have included dinner at another Amish home near Berlin.

FLIGHT 93 NATIONAL MEMORIAL Shanksville, Pennsylvania
Saturday, Sept. 14
Eighteen years after the tragedy of 9/11, much has changed around the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Be a part of this in-depth tour and see the visitor center at the Flight 93 National Memorial which just opened three years ago. See the new Tower of Voices Flight 93 wind chime tower which will be completed this spring. View the memorial at the crash site. This tour also visits the Flight 93 Memorial Chapel which features many items only to be seen there including the United Airlines Flight 93 Memorial, a carved steel beam from one of the Twin Towers at Ground Zero, and several inspiring items brought by family members over the years to honor their loved ones on that flight. Lunch is included at the Oakhurst Tearoom near Somerset. Later in the afternoon, we visit Shanksville Stonycreek High School to see their 9/11 Memorial Rock Garden.

Be a part of our perennial favorite tour to the
Big Apple. We’ll stay in the heart of Manhattan all three nights in an excellent location at Hotel Edison, where we will be within walking distance of the Theater District, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and so much more. On our first morning in New
York City, we take a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Then we stop at Ground Zero to see the National 9/11 Memorial that opened in 2011. In addition, the tour includes admission to the National 9/11 Memorial Museum at Ground Zero and the opportunity to choose between going up the Top
of the Rock observation deck after sunset or going up to the One World Trade Center observation deck in the daytime to see a dramatic view of the New York City skyline from a different location in the highest building in North America. Then we drive through Chinatown, Greenwich Village and Soho on our way back to Hotel Edison where you will have some free time this evening to explore New York City further. On our second morning in New York City, we will meet our local guide for an enlightening tour of northern Manhattan and Harlem with a stop in Central Park. Along the way, we also will see the exterior of the famous Apollo Theater. We will take
a fascinating tour of Radio City Music Hall with the opportunity to meet a Rockette and learn what it takes to become one. Those wishing to get a photo with a Rockette can do so on this tour. After some time to freshen up, we go to included dinner and then enjoy included orchestra seats to a premier Broadway musical to be announced in mid-February. We visit the Empire State Building, at which time anyone who wishes to visit the Macy’s flagship
store can do so. Before departing New York City,
we stop at Tiffany’s and visit the five-star Plaza
Hotel near Central Park for those wishing to see it. This is an exceptional itinerary for the price, with
four meals included (3 breakfasts and 1 dinner).

Here’s another perennial favorite tour that always sells out over time! For those who have not been
to Washington, D.C., in a while, this is the tour for
you to consider. Celebrate our grand nation by
going on this grand trip to Washington, D.C. Enjoy
a spectacular dinner cruise on the Potomac River sailing by beautiful monuments and other historic landmarks all impressively lit at night. We will cruise on the Odyssey, a deluxe sightseeing vessel. We visit the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial and we see other memorable monuments including the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, and the Iwo Jima (Marine Corps) War Memorial. We also visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and take a very scenic walk around the Tidal Basin at the most spectacular time of day, just before sunset, to see the George Mason National Memorial and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. The included Arlington National Cemetery tour features stops at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where you can watch the Changing of the Guard and visit the Kennedy gravesites. There’s time to explore the National Mall on your own and visit the Smithsonian Museums of your choice as well as the Holocaust Museum and the National Archives. This tour also makes stops at the following monuments: Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Women’s Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Albert Einstein Memorial, Washington Monument and World War II Memorial. We have an included dinner one evening
at a trendy restaurant in Washington, D.C. frequented by members of Congress and lobbyists – the Old Ebbitt Grill. We’ll stop at the White House where
you can take exterior photographs. We will visit the U.S. Capitol. A behind-the-scenes tour of the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts will be another highlight of this trip. We also will tour the Washington National Cathedral.
