TRAVEL MATTERS
CANAL FULTON EXPERIENCE AND OHIO VETERANS’ MEMORIAL PARK Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020
Ohio has hidden travel gems and this year’s selected travel gem is right in our backyard – Canal Fulton, Ohio. We take a cruise on the St. Helena III on the beautiful Ohio-Erie Canal that traverses Canal Fulton. Then we have included lunch at the popular Canal Grille. After lunch, we have some free time
to explore Canal Fulton with many quaint shops. The Teddy Bear Shop has a great selection of Teddy Bears that your children or grandchildren will love. Then there’s The Toys Time Forgot, a store that carries toys of a bygone era but in mint condition. Other shops will be open and for those who love
ice cream, Osers Dairy and Deli and Cherry Street Creamery are worth a stop. For chocolate lovers,
be sure to stop in Deliciously Different as well as Laura’s Candy and Nuts. We depart Canal Fulton and travel a short distance to Clinton, Ohio, to visit Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park, an educational, military memorial whose focal point is the 125 feet long granite Memorial Wall. There is much more there including a POW/MIA Reflecting Pond and Eternal Flame, the Gold Star Mothers’ and Fathers’ Statues, a Cobra Helicopter and an M60 Patton Tank. This new tour offering promises to be very memorable for everyone.
