Capturing Icons and Breathtaking Moments in Masterpiece Photographs
By Craig Haberle, CTC
When aiming your camera, have you ever wished for a little extra time before pressing the button so the photo would be even better? Would those “Kodak moments” benefit from an improved viewing position or lighting condition, or a distraction moved out of sight? Waiting until the scene is just perfect is often a matter of patience; sometimes it is luck. But why count on the uncertainty of luck when you can have the opportunity to make the changes that create a prized photograph you can proudly share.
here are just a few hints of some of the many special “photo op’s” that are unique to these parks visited in this order:
Zion: Emerald Pools, Scouts Lookout, Virgin River Bridge Bryce Canyon: Statuesque “Hoodoos,” Dark Skies
and Sunrise
Capitol Reef: Grand Wash, Sulphur Creek, Sunset and Night Skies
Canyonlands: Upheaval Dome, Mesa Arch and Buck Canyon Overlook
Arches: Windows Section, Delicate Arch, Elephant Butte and Sunrise
In addition to the five National Parks, the tour route treats you to access of these less-visited but impressive natural sites and their wildlife: Snow Canyon State Park and Red Cliffs Desert Reserve; Grand Staircase National Monument, Scenic Byway 12 and Slot Canyons; Goblin Valley, Deadhorse Point and more.
Focused on photography and exceptionally photogenic destinations, this tour can be enjoyed by a full range of camera-savvy travelers, whether you are using sophisticated digital camera equipment, point-and-shoot cameras, or cellphones with camera capabilities. Even if you are not an avid photographer and usually leave the photo-snapping to a travelling companion, you are welcome on this adventure. This is an active tour that reaches a maximum elevation of 8,000
to 9,000 feet at the rim of Bryce Canyon and requires capable walking and hiking on inclines and uneven surfaces to join in the excitement of exploration beyond the beaten path.
A flight to Las Vegas and transfer to St. George, Utah, commence this tour that concludes in Salt Lake City for the flight home. Transportation in Utah will be provided by two Mercedes-Benz luxury Sprinter vans with a maximum of
