• Service is provided for the rider whose bicycle is disabled.
• Service is limited to transporting a bicycle (back home, to bike repair shop, etc.) due to breakdown disablement.
• Service applies to all two-wheeled bicycles.
• Mechanical repairs are not included, including
bicycle lock service.

Announcing the Bicycle Roadside Assistance Program
AAA Central Penn is expanding its 24-Hour Emergency Roadside Assistance program to include members’ bicycles.
We like to say that AAA is with you on the road of life, and this expanded coverage is a testament to AAA’s dedication to its members, whether they’re behind the wheel or behind a handlebar.
Most people are familiar with AAA’s Roadside Assistance program: when a member’s automobile doesn’t start, breaks down, or otherwise becomes inoperable, AAA will arrive on-scene to tow the automobile to a repair facility or the owner’s home. Starting on January 1, 2016, that same coverage will apply to bicycles.
Imagine that you’re on a 10-mile ride, when a broken chain, flat tire, or snapped cable renders your bicycle unsafe or inoperable. In the past, you could call your friend with a pick-up truck, hoping that he’s home and not busy. Or leave your broken bike where it is, walk home, and drive back to retrieve it. But now, AAA Plus and Premier members can simply call AAA.
AAA will send a light-duty service vehicle –
equipped with a bicycle rack – to take you and your bike to a repair facility or your house.
This new Bicycle Service is free and available to all Plus and Premier members, anywhere in the AAA Central Penn territory, starting on January 1, 2016. There is no sign-up or enrollment. Members can use any of their allotted yearly service calls for bicycle roadside assistance.
PROGRAM BENEFITS:
• There is no additional charge to Plus or Premier Members for bicycle coverage.
• Any roadside assistance calls can be used for bicycles.
• The bicycle towing mileage is the same as vehicle towing mileage – 100 miles for Plus, and one 200-mile tow for a Premier household.
COVERAGE & RESTRICTIONS:
• Member must be present at the time of disablement and have a valid AAA – Central Penn card.
• Bicycle Service is provided only along a normally- traveled road or street.
