AAA NOW! Testimonials
On AAA Travel:
Thank you Annemarie for your assistance with my flight itinerary for my trip to Cape Town South Africa. Closer to the trip I decided to upgrade my seats, which was a smart move
for such a long flight! I want you to know how much I appreciated your quick responses and how well you organized my travel plans for me. You are great at what you do!
— Jane, from Lancaster
On AAA Driving School:
Two of our children have been through the AAA Driving School. They both felt they learned so much more from your professional instructors – we are so glad they participated in the program.
— Jennifer from Lancaster
On AAA Mature Operator Classes:
This course was so helpful and interesting! Marge was amazing – and so informative!
— Ben from Harrisburg
On AAA Insurance:
We wanted to let you know how much we appreciate working with Bill Barshinger to select our new auto insurance. Not only did he save us money, but he increased our coverage! He took his time to make sure we got the best possible deal. If any of our friends or relatives are shopping for insurance we’ll be sure to refer them to Bill. We are glad we’re with AAA!
— Sue and Jack from Lebanon
On AAA Roadside Assistance:
We just wanted to take a moment to recognize one of your fleet drivers, Kash, who went out of his way to help us when we were stranded on I-81S. We were on our way home to Tennessee when our tire blew out completely and had to be replaced. Kash took us to the dealer and didn’t remove the car from the tow truck until he was sure that the dealer could provide what we needed...the tire had to
be ordered and they would have it the next morning. Kash didn’t leave us until he was certain we had secured a hotel for the night and had transportation. He is truly a special person and AAA must be proud to have such a conscientious employee.
— Roger and Pat from Tennessee
Getting relatives together for a family reunion can be a wonderful experience but, like most things, its success depends on proper planning.
Arranging the first gathering of the clan may seem a little daunting but it's manageable once you answer some basic questions about location, accommodations and date.
When choosing a destination, there are as many possibilities as there are family members. Here are some criteria to consider:
• Convenience – Select a location near a major airport so it is easily accessible and offers service from a variety of airlines.
• Activities – Choose an area that offers sightseeing and lots of activities. There may be family members who will want to extend their vacations beyond the reunion or take side trips to local attractions. Ideas could be zip-lining, putt-putt golf, an amusement park, trail hiking or beach time.
• Price – Exotic locations may be nice but are not practical for a wide range of budgets, ages and interests. Choose an area that will give you a price most families can afford. Cruise ships and resorts are popular for reunions because of their all-inclusive pricing packages that include meals, activities and shows. Baby-sitting is often available.
• Preferences – The family hometown can be a wonderful site for a reunion. So can a resort by the ocean, or one in the mountains or a big hotel in a major metropolitan area. Developing a consensus among relatives will help broaden participation.
Many kinds of accommodations are appropriate for a family reunion, from huge resorts to cozy inns. Consider Gaylord Resorts which are Marriott properties and

vacation destinations in and of themselves offering “everything in one place.” Located in a few areas of the U.S. from the East to the Midwest, choose the D.C. area, Nashville, TN, Orlando area and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Gaylord Resorts offer diverse dining options, full- service spa, top-notch entertainment, on-site shopping and more. Depending on family size, you'll want a place that can hold at least one large reunion dinner. It also should have separate areas so relatives can congregate as a group, separate into smaller parties or spend time as couples.
When picking a date, consider that families
with school-age children may find it easier to attend a reunion in the summer or around a long holiday weekend. Depending on the activities planned, choose the time of year carefully with the appropriate weather in mind.
Your travel agent can tell you when a destination is less crowded and whether off-season discounts are available.
Remember, the larger the gathering, the longer the planning time. It may take 18 to 24 months to put together a reunion for a large family scattered across the country.
For help, contact a AAA travel counselor experienced at arranging group tours – expertise they can use
to help put your family reunion together. A full- service AAA travel counselor at your local branch can provide information on locations, accommodations, transportation and group discounts.
Through our network of AAA offices across the United States and Canada, AAA travel agencies can assist your relatives wherever they live.
The main things to remember are to keep the price affordable, food plentiful and activities friendly. If you have all this, and good weather too, your reunion should be a success no matter where you hold it.
