A Transition of Board Leadership at AAA Central Penn

As I begin my first communication with you as your new Chairman of the Board, I would like to thank Larry Brown for his past seven years of service to the organization, the last two years as your Chairman.
The transition of board leadership has been a hallmark of our board
for many years. I am happy to have two past chairs, Larry Brown and Jessica Meyers, serving on the board
I invite you to join me on my first Chairman’s
trip, Treasures of the Incas, August 22 through September 3. A few highlights of the trip include exploring Lima – City of Kings; Aguas Calientes; Cusco; Machu Picchu, “Lost City of the Incas”; Lake Titicaca and dinner with wine at world-renowned Astrid y Gaston (recipient, Top 50 World Restaurants). We are also offering an optional 5-night Galapagos pre-tour, August 18 through August 23. For more information on these exciting trips, call or visit one of our knowledgeable AAA travel agents.
Finally, I want to recognize Joyce Fohl, Executive Assistant to the President, who recently retired after many years of service to our organization. Joyce began her career as Executive Secretary with AAACP at our club when our headquarters was on Market Street. She contributed articles and was the editor of our club magazine for several years. Joyce thoroughly enjoyed interfacing with our members and staff, and worked diligently to support our Leadership Team and Board. We wish her well on her retirement.

I have been a AAA member for more than 55 years, 43 of those years as a member of AAA Central Penn. I have always used the many benefits of my membership, including travel planning and booking, road service, financial services, the travel store and member discounts in our market area.
Since joining your Board of Directors in 2013, I feel honored to have served on the Executive Committee, Audit/Finance Committee (Chairman) and Strategic Planning Committee. As a board officer, I have served as Vice Chairman, Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer.

For the past two years Larry Brown has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AAA Central Penn. We sincerely thank Larry for his outstanding guidance and excellent contributions to the club. I would also like to personally thank Larry for his guidance and support during my first year as President/CEO. We wish him the very best in his retirement as

The Italian Elegance experience begins with touring Rome, The Eternal City, as well as a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and a private VIP highlight, dinner at the Vatican. From the bustling city of Rome to the Tuscan countryside, to the quaint fishing villages of the Lake District and finishing with the canals of Venice, this is not a trip to be missed!
Our Panama Canal cruise will begin by boarding Holland America’s ms Zuiderdam in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ports of call include Half Moon Cay, Bahamas; Oranjestad, Aruba; and Willemstad, Curacao, to name a few. We will journey through the Gatun locks of
the Panama Canal, with a stop at Colon, Panama. These two trips will provide you with an experience of a lifetime. I would love to host you on one or

Chairman and are very pleased to have Larry continue on the Board as Past Chairman.
In late March, your club welcomed J. Roger Moyer, Jr. of Lititz as your new Chairman of the Board. Roger joined the board in 2013 and has since served in the capacity of Vice Chairman, Treasurer and participates on various Board committees. The staff, Board and I look forward to working with Roger in his new role as Chairman of the Board as we continue to focus on increasing the benefits of your membership.
