WITH YOU ON THE ROAD OF LIFE
SLOW DOWN TO GET AROUND CAMPAIGN
Just in Time for the Busy Driving Season, New “Slow Down To Get Around” Law Will Save Lives on Pennsylvania Roads
Driver education efforts launched to keep workers safe as they do their jobs
AAA Central Penn joins Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association at a press event at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg, PA to raise awareness of a new law to protect Pennsylvanians who
work along our roadways. AAA Central Penn President
& CEO Jodie Daubert said, “AAA Central Penn regularly trains all Road Service Technicians in order to stay safe
and be seen on the roadside while performing service to our members, but according to the International Towing and Recovery Museum, one tow truck driver is killed every six days in the U.S.” The Slow Down to Get Around driver education effort will remind Pennsylvania motorists to maintain a safe speed and pass vehicles – and the men and women who operate them – with due care and caution
as they collect our waste and recyclables, deliver our mail
and provide roadside assistance, especially during the busy driving season when driver distractions build. Pennsylvania joins 21 other states that have passed similar laws.
