‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’

The magic is calling you to “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”! Walt Disney World® Resort Florida will soon begin celebration of its golden anniversary. This incredible event will be an 18-month celebration five decades in the making! The celebration begins October 1st – the day the park opened in 1971. Since opening its gates five decades ago, the vacation destination has grown and changed multiple times. Even now it continues to expand with new stories, characters, and adventures.
The 18-month event will include new experiences at the four theme parks and beyond. The milestone is such a big deal, that Disney has coined a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what guests will see when they visit. The shimmering EARidescent décor will appear throughout the vacation destination as if it were magic. Shining at the center of it all
will be Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park, adding to its royal makeover which occurred during the COVID pandemic in 2020, with new gold bunting, sparkling golden embellishments and other enhancements, including a 50th anniversary crest welcoming guests to enjoy the celebrations.
As part of the “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” icons at each Walt Disney World® theme park will transform into magnificent Beacons of Magic at night, coming to life with their own EARidescent glow. Some attractions include:
• Cinderella Castle will illuminate Magic Kingdom with a dazzling radiance that sparkles with pixie dust
• A new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment” will take guests on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment – inspiring everyone to believe in magic, it will feature music, enhance lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first-time immersive projection effects that will extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street U.S.A.
• Joining “Disney Enchantment” will be “Harmonious” at EPCOT – one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney Park, “Harmonious” is a powerful
tribute to the stories and songs that unite us, and incorporates pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting and media
• At EPCOT, new lights will also shine across the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth, connecting to one another in a symbolic gesture of optimism, resembling stars in a nighttime sky – these new lights will continue beyond the celebration as a defining feature of the park
• Magical fireflies will inhabit the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
• And The Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be awash with brilliance, evoking the golden age of imagination and adventure
Guests will also want to keep an eye out for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, hosts of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” Mickey and Minnie will be decked out for the occasion, with sparkling new custom-made fashions. Highlights of these celebratory designs include beautifully embroidered impressions of Cinderella Castle backed by fireworks, as well as a brocade in multi-toned EARidescent fabric – with gold highlights.
Walt Disney World® cast members, demonstrating their commitment to service and exceeding Guest’s expectations, will join Mickey and Minnie and are looking forward to sharing all the magic with Guests, as they are the heart of this momentous event.
