A short ferry ride from Messina to the mainland yields tours and tastings at vineyards in the Calabria region. Visit cave dwellings at Sassi di Matera and the cone-shaped “trulli” roofs of Alberobello before touring seaside Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast and the ruins of Pompeii. Consider this the perfect tour to return to Ireland or visit for the first time. First, stay in a castle near Dublin and
tour the city’s treasures. Then, travel north to the Ulster American Folk Park for insights to traditional life and crafts, and tour 15th - 17th century Donegal Castle.
