AAA Central Penn Recognizes Area School Safety Patrollers
On Friday, March 20, all AAA Central Penn School Safety Patrollers were invited to the Zembo Circus located at the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg. All attendees were asked to create a banner representing their School Safety Patrol. Before the matinee, the children participated in the Parade of Banners, where they were introduced to the crowd as they marched across the stage. All banners were then entered into a competition to win a pizza party at the end of the year, compliments of AAA Central Penn.
AAA Central Penn employees voted on all the wonderfully-creative banners, and crowned Greenwood Elementary in Millerstown, PA, the winner of the 2015 AAA School Safety Patrol Banner Competition.
Here were a few comments from the judges:

The tradition of Safety Patrol Day at the Circus dates back to the early ‘60s when AAA Central Penn Automobile Club took Safety Patrollers to the
Circus as an end-of-year treat for patrollers who volunteered their time to keep their peers safe on the way to and from school.
AAA Central Penn believes that the AAA School Safety Patrol® is an important program that instills leadership, accountability and good citizenship. For over 85 years, this program has fostered the civic careers
of former U.S. presidents, congressmen, judges, police officers, pro athletes and pop icons.
AAA Central Penn is very proud of all Safety Patrollers in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin and Perry counties. If your school is interested in more information about establishing a Safety Patrol, you may register online at AAA.com/SafetyPatrol.

The AAA Central Penn Travel Store is holding its annual luggage donation event. “Gently used” luggage can be donated at any of our 11 AAA Central Penn offices. Donations will be accepted October 19-31, 2015. As a thank you for your donation, you will receive a coupon for 15 percent off your total wheeled-luggage purchase. Coupons are only good at AAA Central Penn Travel Stores (restrictions may apply).
All donations are distributed throughout Central Pennsylvania. Past recipients have included Boys and Girls Club of Central Pennsylvania, Water Street Rescue Mission, PA State Resource Family Association, and the United Methodist Home for Children.
