and snack items. A different plan exists for each budget and travel style. Quick-service options are considered faster meals on the go. Mobile ordering is available for some of these locations. Table-service dining options require reservations and are usually more expensive.
All package types include plenty of food, plus the standardized credit system allows you to get whatever you want (within eligibility). So, if the restaurant has lobster, go ahead and get it. Some character and other special dining experiences take more than one credit, so pay attention and plan accordingly.
Tip: Periodically, throughout the year, Disney offers a free dining plan for specific dates and select resorts. Make sure to speak with your Travel Agent about this and other limited-time dining offers that might be available when planning your vacation.
Extra Magic Hours
Disney After Hours
Wouldn’t it be awesome to be in the parks before they open or after they close? Fewer people equals shorter lines for the best rides. Guess what, if you’re a Disney Resort hotel guest, you totally get this perk. Extra Magic Hours (EMH) happen on select mornings and nights at each of the four theme parks. You’ll need your valid resort ID or your linked MagicBand with you.
Tip: Not everything is open during EMH, so it’s essential to check what you’ll be able to do only during regular operating hours. Also, if you don’t have the Hopper option on your ticket, you can only do one park per day. Know ahead of time which park has EMH each day so you can plan and book FP+.
Yeah, most people have cell phones and are capturing pictures throughout their whole experience, but Disney PhotoPass allows you to get special photo ops that you would not otherwise. From character meet and greets to rides and more, all your PhotoPass pictures are stored seamlessly in your My Disney Experience profile until you’re ready to purchase your favorites.
Tip: If you’re all about the pictures, add the Memory Maker to your package. You’ll be able to get unlimited digital downloads of both pictures and videos. You’ll also have access to select other photo offers throughout your stay. But make sure you buy it before you arrive as any photos taken within three days from the date Memory Maker is purchased will not be included and must be purchased separately.
One of the newest additions, Disney After Hours is similar to evening EMH, but is a separately ticketed event. How is it comparable? You get to stay up to three hours after the parks close to the public. How is it different? It costs extra money. Like the Mickey’s Halloween and Christmas parties, you can use your After Hours ticket for admission, but
have to wait several hours after park open to get in. That said, you will get shorter lines and unique experiences. This ticket cannot be used for park hopping. Check schedule for participating parks and available dates.
Tip: If your flight doesn’t get in until later in the day, but you still want to go to the park, check and see if After Hours is going on that day. You’ll get to settle in a bit more leisurely and still have plenty of time to play!
