New Year, New You:
Healthy Isn’t a Goal, It’s a Lifestyle
This is it. This is the year you make it happen! have a written plan of action for each? The best strategy
It will not happen overnight. Committing to a healthier lifestyle and a healthier you is just that – a commitment. A consistent one at that. It will take time, discipline and effort. But trust us when we say that every minute, meal and workout will be more than worth it. Here are the most effective steps we have provided
to a vast number of clients, to help them change to a healthier lifestyle, permanently.
Change your mindset – First, realize that you hold
the power; no one else. You can make changes by changing your perspective, mindset and daily habits. Look at how you emotionally, mentally and physically handle and process challenges, daily tasks, goals, work, family, food, relationships and, most importantly, fitness. Do you handle these things positively or destructively? How do you speak to yourself? See yourself? Handle temptations, setbacks, criticism and compliments?
All of these factors ultimately affect how positive and productive you are each day. Being honest about where your mindset is from the start is the foundation upon which healthy lifestyle changes are built.
Set realistic goals and a plan of action – Ask yourself this question: “What do I need to change?” What are your unique personal goals? Have you defined each goal and not only written each one down but also
is a visual one. Build a vision board so you can see each goal planned out and in plain eyesight. Post your vision board on the wall in your kitchen, living room, bathroom or bedroom. Or use sticky notes for each goal and post them on a mirror you look in each day. This way you can see, read and be one step closer to your goal each day!
Actions produce results – This is where all your written down plans get put into action. Get to your gym or your trainer. Set up a schedule that will work for you. Prioritize yourself. Get to walking instead of calling that Uber you have on speed dial. Get to cooking healthy, simple and delicious meals instead of dialing Grub Hub. Put down the bottles of wine and pick up the bottles
of water. Put away the excuses and pull out the list of reasons. Put on the “I get to” attitude instead of the negative “I must do.” Pull out your plan every day if you have to and stick to it. There is no quitting! Setbacks and slowing down will happen, but stopping does not. You’ve got this!
