Getting Ready to Travel Again
Michele Van Epps
We’ve been talking about the spirit of travel and now, as the world opens back up, more people are beginning to actually do it. There has been a steady increase in members and nonmembers alike looking to go on vacation, whether by land, air or sea. Throughout the past year, most of us have experienced the feeling of wanderlust. The prospect of getting out to explore again is very exciting.
It is always important to plan ahead, but especially now with so many new considerations for reservation
and cancelation policies, capacity limitations and health and safety guidelines. Of course, when you’re ready for your next vacation, AAA Travel Advisors
are here to help guide you through the planning and booking process from beginning to end. Our agents have access to the most up–to–date information as well as professional tips and tricks to maximize your good time.
Here’s one of those tips: If you’re planning to go somewhere that requires a passport, check your expiration date and make sure you have
a window of at least six months from your return date. If you’ll need to update it before leaving, do it well in advance. If it makes sense, start
the process now so it’s in your hands with plenty of time before your departure. Of course, if you’re unable to do so, there is the option of expedited service for a fee. You’ll most likely have to make a reservation to process your passport as they may not allow drop-in visits. Don’t forget, AAA members get discounted passport photos.
AAA Travel Advisors can help you figure out things like quarantine, vaccination and digital health passport procedures and what to pack so that you’re prepared. Additionally, your agent can help you insure your trip so that you have peace of mind should something happen. We’re here to help make the process as easy and seamless as possible for you and your vacation party. Check out page 16 for answers to our most frequently asked questions about traveling in the new world.
Keep in mind, the AAA Travel Store has a variety of items available to
pack in your suitcase. Both online and in-store, you’ll find anti-microbial face masks, towels and pouches, ultraviolet-light sanitizing boxes and emergency kits. Plus, get extra store savings with coupon on page 7.
When you’re ready to plan your long-awaited vacation, we’re ready for you. Be safe and enjoy!
