Pigeon Island, a 40-acre islet connected by a causeway to St. Lucia’s west coast, is a beautiful nature park which reflects a thousand years of
history. The island features marked trails with a number of historical sites, including the remains of an 18th century British fort and Fort Rodney, where the admiral for whom it is named spied on French ships from this strategic viewpoint.
One of the St. Lucia’s most unique attractions is Sulphur Springs, the world’s only “drive-in” volcano. Even after 40,000 years since its eruption, the volcanic crater shoots forth steam clouds 50 feet high.
