This year, Busch Gardens
is opening a new high-thrill extreme swing, Finnegan’s Flyer. Riders will soar high and swing out over the cliffs of the Celtic coast on this Screamin’ Swing ride located in the park’s Ireland village. The attraction features two pendulum-like arms,
seating 32 riders that fly progressively higher with each swing. Finnegan’s Flyer will reach a staggering height of more than 80 feet with a speed of 45 mph. Riders can take in beautiful views of the park while being thrilled on this captivating attraction.
SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE & SAFARI JACKSON, NEW JERSEY
The world’s tallest pendulum ride is expected to open at Six Flags Great Adventure in late spring this year. At 17 stories tall, Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth will be a jaw-dropping, spinning disk reaching speeds up to 75 miles per hour as it spins and swings to breathtaking heights. Riders will experience a feeling of weightlessness at 172 feet in the air, and floorless seats will leave riders’ feet dangling as they whirl through the air.
Busch Gardens will also hold the first annual Six Flags Food & Brew Festival August 16-19. The festival will feature delicious treats, an expansive variety of craft beer, cocktails and live entertainment. More than 12 of the best Jersey Shore rock, country, jazz, and blues bands are expected to appear, including Williams Honor, Ned Ryerson and the Groundhogs, Matt O’Ree Band, Billy Hector &
the Midnight Horns. Food stations, bars and live music will be available from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m.
HERSHEYPARK HERSHEY, PENNSYLVANIA
Also new this summer, Hersheypark will introduce an interactive gaming ride called Reese’s Cupfushion. Acting as special agents on this attraction, it’s the patrol car rider’s mission to ensure the world is never deprived of Reese’s peanut butter cups by protecting Reese’s Central. Agents are equipped with state-of- the-art gear to protect the factory and earn points on every mission.
In summer 2020, Hershey’s Chocolatetown will open as a new region at the park where guests can play, eat, shop and gather. The expansion area will include Hersheypark’s 15th coaster, which will be its tallest, fastest, longest coaster yet.
