What Makes Engine Filter Maintenance Important

engine air filters clean.
Engine air filters are a relatively inexpensive part, but perform a

Air filters might not need to be replaced at each oil change service. Most technicians suggest replacing the filter every 10,000 miles. However, drivers who live in particularly dry and dusty regions might need to replace filters more frequently.
Technicians can often detect when an air filter needs to be replaced. If he or she notices the air filter to be particularly dirty, it’s time to replace it. Replacing the filter is a relatively inexpensive repair for the performance return and peace of mind a new filter provides.

Air filters attract all the dust, dirt, insects, leaves and any other road debris that may pass the vehicle’s grill and air intake. Without this filtering system those contaminates might compromise the engine causing abrasion and corrosion. If a dirty engine air filter is not replaced when needed, the engine is ultimately starved of critical air volume.
