IRELAND: A COUNTRY OF COLORFUL DIMENSIONS
The magical Emerald Isle in the North Atlantic known as Ireland is a legendary realm of mesmerizing ever-so-green landscapes steeped in historical significance.
The history of Ireland flows down through Stone Age hamlets to the Celtic migration; from the Viking occupation to the medieval Anglo-Norman knights’ domination. Many Neolithic tombs are now strewn around the land, remnants of once great abbeys and magnificent castles.
In Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland, visitors find much to explore. The Guinness Storehouse is one of the city’s many draws. Built in the style of the Chicago School of Architecture in 1904, it was originally used as a fermentation house. Today the property features a multimedia exhibition on everything from retro advertising to the craft of brewing. Another popular attraction
is Dublin Castle, which was the seat of power and government for many centuries.
Mills is another nearby point of interest, where you can find quality Irish-made goods.
Venturing farther south, embark on Ireland’s popular 100-mile scenic drive – the Ring of Kerry. This winding route reveals magnificent views of MacQillycuddy’s Reeks as well as the scenic coast of beaches and cliffs. North of the Ring of Kerry, along the coast of County Clare, lies the famous Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular wall of sandstone that reaches almost 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.
Of course, there is much more to explore
in Ireland, but be sure not to miss visiting the country’s friendly pubs, where Guinness ale and the patrons’ playful banter flow freely.

including the 13th century St. Johns Castle
in Limerick City, have been authentically
restored over the years. Today, visitors
to the 16th century Bunratty Castle can
join in a sumptuous feast in the castle’s
grand banquet hall while enjoying the
Renaissance chorale melodies of the
Bunratty Castle Singers. The Ashford and Dromoland castles even invite guests to
stay the night in luxurious bedrooms and
dine in elegant splendor in the manner of the great Irish royal families of yore.

Beyond Dublin, travelers traverse magnificent scenery of lush landscapes punctuated by idyllic towns. Neatly kept white cottages, many with thatched roofs, are encircled by rolling verdant hills and lush meadows bright with scarlet and gold wildflowers. And the entire land is crisscrossed by dark blue lakes and rippling streams.
